How to Download, Install And Run PPSSPP Games on Android

PPSSPP games require a PSP emulator to run PSP games on Android. Learn how to download, install & run PPSSPP games on your Android smartphones.

PPSSPP games require a PSP emulator in your Android smartphone to run PlayStation games. Using the PSP emulator, you can run all kinds of PlayStation games on your Android device. In this article on Nextappfinder (NAF), you’ll learn how to download, install & Run PPSSPP games on your Android device.

First of all, You have any Android Device (Smart phone, Tablet) having Ram of 1GB. In addition, you need to make sure the OS installed on your device is Marshmallow or a newer on Your android device. If your Android device meets these requirements, you will be able to play the PPSSPP game.

Here Are the Steps Required to Download, Install & Run PPSSPP Games on Android

Step 1: Download and Install the PPSSPP Android emulator

Like I said above, to play the PSP games, you need to install an app named as PPSSPP on Google Play, there are so many other emulator apps that can be used to play PSP games in .ISO or .CSO formats, but for the course of this tutorial, we’ll be focusing on one of the best of all which is the PPSSPP emulator.

This emulator comes in two types, the first is the PPSSPP free version that allows you to use with very few ads showing up at different sections of the app. The second is the PPSSPP Gold app, this one is the paid version, with as little as $4.99. The PPSSPP Gold doesn’t show annoying ads when in use. See the download link below!

One last thing before I move to the next step, the PPSSPP Gold Mod APK is available for those who don’t want to pay for this app, even though I advise against using this modded version, you should simply support app developers by simply paying for the original version or better still, stick to the free version.

Step 2: Download the best PPSSPP games

Now that you have your PPSSPP Android emulator istalled, the next thing you need to get started is the actual PSP game. Remember no games are included when you install the PPSSPP emulator.

To get playing, you first have to understand that playable PSP games must be turned into  .ISO or .CSO files before they can be compatible with your PSP Android emulator. What I’m simply saying is that these games come in .ISO or .CSO format and are later compressed using a files compressor app such as Xplore, WinRAR, ZArchiver etc., what this means is, to uncompressed the compressed PPSSPP games file, you’d need to follow the next step below.

Step 3: Download ZArchiver to your Android

Usually, the PPSSPP game files that have been downloaded are still in the form of RAR and also cannot be played on the PPSSPP emulator. This is because files that can be read by the PPSSPP emulator are files in the format of CSO or ISO.

The ISO or CSO file usually has a much larger size compared to the RAR file. The reason why it’s compressed to RAR/Zip is to make it much lighter and reduced data consumption during download. Following up on what I said in Step 2, you need to learn how to extract compressed files, in this case, we need to unzip or uncompress a highly compressed PPSSPP game.

To get started, download the ZArchiver application on your Android device through the link below.

Download Apk For ZArchiver

Step 4: Open ZArchiver and extract the PPSSPP game file

To extract PSP game files that are still in RAR form using Zarchiver is as follows:

  • Download and install the Zarchiver application first.
  • Then Open and run the application.
  • Next, look for the game file that is still in RAR form which will be extracted.
  • If you have found it, click extract directly on the Zarchiver application.
  • Then wait until the extract process is complete.
  • After the extraction process is complete, open the extract results, you will see many files.
  • Open the RAR file from the extracted results, then extract the file that is written behind the RAR.
  • Wait until the Extract process is complete.
  • Finally, extract the game file to your PSP folder (the extracted file extension must be .iso)

Step 5: Open the PPSSPP emulator, then open the PSP folder and finally open the game file (.iso)

Now that you have extracted the file into the PSP folder, you can now open the already installed PPSSPP emulator and start enjoying your favourite PPSSPP .ISO game on your Android device.
